From Monday 2nd to Saturday 7th November 2026, you can create your own Old Fashioned at The Black Horse in Reigate.

Choose the bourbon or whiskey, syrup, bitters and garnish, all for the same price as a regular Old Fashioned.

The week kicks off Woodford Reserve’s Old Fashioned Month. Here’s how it works, what’s on the bar and a few combinations to get you started.

How does Create Your Own Old Fashioned work?

It takes four steps, and you choose one option at each. Just ask a member of the team at The Black Horse and they’ll stir up your Old Fashioned exactly the way you’ve chosen it.

With two spirits, four syrups, two bitters and four garnishes, there are 64 possible combinations. Plenty of reasons to come back for a second.

Step 1: Choose your bourbon or whiskey

Start with the backbone of your drink. Go for Woodford Reserve Bourbon if you like it rich and rounded, or Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey for a smooth, familiar classic.

Step 2: Pick your syrup

This is where the personality comes in. Choose from agave, cinnamon, raspberry or pineapple syrup, depending on whether you’re in the mood for something mellow, warming, fruity or a little tropical.

Step 3: Add your bitters

A few dashes make all the difference. Angostura Bitters bring that deep, spiced warmth of a traditional Old Fashioned, while Orange Bitters add a bright, zesty lift.

Step 4: Finish with a garnish

Now for the fun part. Pick an orange twist, a burnt cinnamon stick, a bird’s eye chilli for a little kick or popcorn, because why not?

Old Fashioned combinations to try

Not sure where to start? Here’s some ideas to get you thinking. Of course, the whole point is that you can mix things up however you like.

• The fireside one: Woodford Reserve, cinnamon syrup, Angostura Bitters and a burnt cinnamon stick. Cosy, warming and made for a chilly November evening.
• The fruity one: Jack Daniel’s, raspberry syrup, Orange Bitters and an orange twist. Bright, juicy and very easy to like.
• The daring one: Woodford Reserve, pineapple syrup, Angostura Bitters and a bird’s eye chilli. Sweet, spicy, not for the faint-hearted.
• The film night one: Jack Daniel’s, agave syrup, Orange Bitters and popcorn. We’d say it pairs well with a good catch-up.

How much does a Create Your Own Old Fashioned cost?

It costs exactly the same as a regular Old Fashioned at The Black Horse.

Whichever combination you choose, the price stays the same, so the chilli and popcorn come at no extra cost.

When can you create your own Old Fashioned at The Black Horse?

The offer runs for six days, from Monday 2nd to Saturday 7th November 2026. It’s a great excuse to round up friends after work, toast the start of the weekend or settle in for dinner with a drink you’ve designed yourself.
